These bite-sized delights have been a party favorite for generations.

These flavorful deviled eggs get a spicy Cajun twist with seasoned shrimp on top, making them a delightful appetizer.

Ingredients:

Perfect Boiled Eggs Ingredients

Cajun Egg Filling Ingredients

Mayonnaise2-3 Tb
Hot Sauce1/2-1 Tb (to taste)
Sweet Relish1 Tb
Old Bay Seasoning1-2 tsp
Garlic Powder1/4 tsp
Fresh Chopped Dill2 Tb
SaltTo Taste
PepperTo Taste

Cajun Shrimp Ingredients

Fresh Shrimp2 dozen, medium sized
Cooking Oil1 tsp
Lemon1/2 small
Old Bay Seasoning2 tsp

Instructions:

Perfect Boiled Eggs

  1. Gently  place the eggs in a shallow pot.
  2. Fill  the pot with enough water to completely cover the eggs.
  3. Bring  the water to a boil, then immediately turn off the heat.
  4. Cover  the pot and let the eggs sit in the hot water for 15-20 minutes.

Cajun Egg Filling

  1. Peel  the boiled eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a medium-sized bowl. Arrange the halved egg whites on paper towels to dry.
  2. To the bowl  with the egg yolks, add the mayonnaise, hot sauce, sweet relish, 1-2 tsp of Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, and 2 Tb of fresh chopped dill.
  3. Mix  all the ingredients together until the egg yolk mixture is smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust the seasonings (including salt, pepper, and hot sauce) to your preference.
  4. Cover  the bowl with the egg yolk mixture and set it aside.

Cajun Shrimp

  1. In a medium-sized pan , heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Pat  the fresh shrimp dry with a paper towel. Add 2 tsp of Old Bay seasoning to the shrimp and stir until they are well coated.
  3. Sauté  the shrimp until they are cooked through (if raw) or until they are slightly charred. This should take a few minutes.
  4. Halfway  through the cooking time, squeeze about 1 teaspoon of lemon juice over the shrimp.

Plating Cajun Shrimp Deviled Eggs

  1. Scoop  the prepared egg yolk mixture evenly into the hollows of the egg white halves.
  2. Top  each filled egg white with one cooked Cajun shrimp.
  3. Garnish  the deviled eggs with a sprinkle of paprika and a pinch of the remaining fresh chopped dill.
  4. Enjoy  your Cajun Shrimp Deviled Eggs!
