The slow cooker cheesy bacon ranch chicken casserole is a comforting dish that brings together the savory flavors of crispy bacon, tender chicken, and rich cheese, all seasoned with the beloved ranch dressing. This dish has its roots in American cuisine, particularly in regions where hearty, one-pot meals are cherished. It's perfect for busy families or anyone looking for a delicious, hassle-free meal that can be prepared ahead of time. The slow cooking process ensures that all the flavors meld together beautifully, resulting in a dish that's both satisfying and bursting with flavor.
This casserole pairs wonderfully with a simple green salad dressed in a light vinaigrette, as the freshness of the salad will complement the richness of the dish. Additionally, serving it with a side of crusty bread or dinner rolls can help soak up the creamy sauce. For a bit of contrast, consider adding a side of roasted vegetables such as Brussels sprouts or green beans, which add a different texture and a bit of nutritional balance.
Slow Cooker Cheesy Bacon Ranch Chicken Casserole
Servings: 6
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 packet (1 oz) of ranch dressing mix
1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped chives (for garnish)
Directions
Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker.
In a mixing bowl, combine the condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.
Pour the mixture over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker, making sure they are fully covered.
Top with crumbled bacon and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
Once cooked, sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top, cover, and let it cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Garnish with chopped chives before serving.
Variations & Tips

For a lighter version, consider using Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. You can also add vegetables such as broccoli or spinach for added nutrition. If you're a fan of spice, try adding some chopped jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mix. For a different flavor profile, swap out the cheddar cheese for a Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack. Lastly, consider using turkey bacon for a leaner option.
