Slow-Cooked Beef Brisket

This tender and flavorful beef brisket recipe is perfect for a hearty meal. Here's how to make it:

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes (with juice)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper : To taste
  • Fresh parsley : For garnish

Instructions

1. Sear the Brisket

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the brisket with salt and pepper.
  • Sear the brisket for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.

2. Sauté the Aromatics

  • In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  • Add the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

3. Prepare the Sauce

  • In the skillet, add beef broth, diced, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, and tomatoes thyme. Stir to combine.

4. Slow Cook the Brisket

  • Place the seared brisket in a slow cooker and pour the sauce over it.
  • Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

5. Serve

  • Remove the brisket and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with the sauce over the top, garnished with fresh parsley.
