Homemade Soft Donuts Recipe – Quick and Delicious

 

These easy homemade donuts are incredibly fluffy, flavored with vanilla, and can be fried or baked. Perfect for a gourmet snack, a party, or simply to enjoy at home. This recipe will yield between 6 and 8 donuts, depending on the size.

250 g flour
25 g sugar
3 g salt
5 g dry baker's yeast (or 12 g fresh yeast)
5 g vanilla flavoring
1 large egg
140 g warm milk
25 g soft butter
Preparation Steps
1. Activate the Yeast
Mix the warm milk (not hot) with the yeast and a spoonful of sugar.
Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.

2. Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt.
Add the egg, vanilla, and then the milk and yeast mixture.
Knead for 8 to 10 minutes to obtain a soft dough.
Add the softened butter and knead for another 5 minutes.

3. First Rising
Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 1.5 to 2 hours in a warm place (it should double in volume).

4. Shaping
Roll out the dough to 1 cm thick.
Cut out circles and make a hole in the center.
Place them on a floured baking sheet, cover with a cloth and let rest for another 30 to 40 minutes.

5. Cooking
Traditional version: Heat oil to 170°C and fry for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Oven version (lighter): Bake at 180°C for 10-12 minutes, then brush with melted butter when removed.

6. Decoration
Roll them in sugar, ice them (icing sugar + milk) or cover with melted chocolate.
