There's nothing quite like a warm, hearty bowl of chili to bring the family together, especially on those chilly Midwestern evenings. This slow cooker 5-ingredient chili beef is a lifesaver for busy parents like me, who want to serve something delicious without spending hours in the kitchen. It's a simple, no-fuss recipe that highlights the rich flavors of beef and beans, making it a comforting classic that everyone will love.
This chili pairs wonderfully with a side of cornbread or some crusty bread for dipping. You can also serve it over a bed of rice or with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of shredded cheese on top. A fresh green salad or some steamed vegetables on the side can add a nice balance to the meal.
Slow Cooker 5-Ingredient Chili Beef
Servings: 6
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
1 packet chili seasoning mix
1 cup beef broth
Directions
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
Transfer the cooked beef to your slow cooker.
Add the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili seasoning mix, and beef broth to the slow cooker.
Stir everything together until well combined.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
Serve hot, and enjoy!
Variations & Tips
For a spicier kick, add a chopped jalapeño or a pinch of cayenne pepper. If you have picky eaters, you can blend the tomatoes before adding them to the slow cooker for a smoother texture. For a vegetarian version, substitute the ground beef with an extra can of beans or some chopped mushrooms. You can also add corn or bell peppers for extra flavor and nutrition.
