Quick, easy, and healthy! Chinese beef with onions and peppers.

 

Ingredients:

  • 500 g beef, cut into thin strips
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 cm fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 THE Austernsauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Spring onions, chopped (optional, as garnish)
  • Sesame oil (optional, for flavor)
  • Directions:

    1. Cut the beef into thin strips and mix them in a bowl with soy sauce and cornstarch. Marinate the meat for about 15-20 minutes.
    2. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan or wok over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and ginger and fry briefly until fragrant.
    3. Add the marinated beef and cook, stirring constantly, until browned and cooked through. This usually takes about 3-5 minutes.
    4. Add the onions and peppers and fry for another 2-3 minutes until softened but still crunchy.
    5. Add the oyster sauce and rice vinegar. Stir well to ensure everything is well blended and the vegetables are evenly coated.
    6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. You can also add a little sesame oil for extra flavor.
    7. Sprinkle the dish with chopped spring onions and serve hot. It goes well with rice or noodles.
